Talcum powder is made from talc which is a mineral made up mainly of the three elements magnesium, silicon, and oxygen.

In its powder form, it helps to absorb moisture and cut down on friction–which means that it’s useful for keeping skin dry and preventing rashes.

In its natural form, some talc contains asbestos, a substance widely known to cause cancers such as ovarian tube cancer and fallopian tube cancer.

It’s widely used in cosmetic products such as:
